Engine upgrades!


It has been a long while since I touched this page, and truth be told, a while since I did much work relating to the game. I recently got stuck in a weird place, where before I could add more content, I had to make a lot of decisions, and I put those off for a very long time.

But decisions have been made!

The big thing here is I have finally done the tedious task of upgrading the game to run at 60fps, up from 30. It was an oversight when I started making the game, and because of the way it's made, the longer I put off changing this, the more numbers I was going to have to change in scripts scattered all over the place. I finally took the plunge though, and in a series of private playtests, it seems like everything is working just fine. 

The current development version has ~30% more content than the current release, in terms of raw number of fish types, and there are some other fairly big additions in the works as well. I'm getting pretty close to a complete overhaul of the music too, so that should be fun!

I'm not uploading a new file just yet, cause the game is in a weird in-between place, with lots of new content that still needs polishing and implementing. I mostly wanted to say this game is still alive, things are happening.

I don't think I'm going to be sharing much new content until the content is ALL there, and I think the current release is about an organic a stopping point as I'm gonna get until it's ready to go, but I may release a version soon that at least has the engine and music updates to make the game more presentable in the meantime.
